Gottfried Jäger (*1937) is one of the most important photographers and photo theorists of the post-war period. In addition to Otto Steinert (Essen) and Bernd & Hilla Becher (Düsseldorf), Jäger has influenced generations of photographers with his non-representational photography and his teaching at the Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences. A retrospective of his work is a desideratum, which this catalog provides with an exemplary selection of works from the artist's most important creative forms and periods.
